Toilet cleaning is no doubt a disgusting chore, but even then every person would prefer to use a sparkly clean toilet. A clean toilet is a sign of a clean home. You may keep your home extremely clean but if you don’t put the effort to clean your toilets, germs can enter your home easily. And we all know some guests who judge you by how much clean the toilet is.
Below is a detailed guide to thoroughly clean your toilet easily so that your toilet may shine day and night.
The Toilet Bowl
The toilet bowl is the dirtiest part to clean. Make sure to wear rubber gloves and a face mask while cleaning so that germs do not enter your face and hands.
First, spray the whole of the toilet bowl with a disinfectant. You can also use homemade disinfectant by putting equal parts of vinegar and baking soda in a spray bottle. You can also make a drain cleaner by pouring in a cup of vinegar in the toilet bowl and spread it around with the toilet brush, then add a cup of baking soda, and let it fizz. Let this mixture sit for around an hour and then use the toilet brush to thoroughly scrub the inside.
Some people also use Coca-Cola to clean the bowl and those dirty and hard stains inside. You can put a liter of Coca-Cola and leave it to rest for an hour. Scrub the inside with the brush. Clean the lid from up and down with a toilet cleaner and spray with a disinfectant. Then, clean the part below the bowl as most dirt and grime gets stuck there. Thoroughly brush with toilet cleaners and scrub it hard. You can buy a ready disinfectant to spray all over the toilet or use a homemade solution of water and vinegar in equal amounts.
Remember, always use a paper towel to wipe and clean the toilet to dry it, and never wipe with a cloth as the cloth accumulates the dust in one place and a paper towel completely clears it.
The Sink and Bathtub
After you are done with the toilet, clean the sink thoroughly with a cleaner.
Never use bleach together with toilet cleaners because when they both combine, they produce deadly gases. Use can a store-bought drain cleaner to clear your sink or make a homemade cleaner with vinegar and baking soda.
Pour hot boiling water down the drain and add a cup of baking soda and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then slowly pour a cup of vinegar and let the solution fizz for an hour. After that, pour in more boiling water. Scrub the sink and wipe with a disinfectant cloth and spray disinfectant all over the sink.
You can do the same if you have a bathtub and scrub thoroughly with a mild cleaner.
The Floor and Bath Area
For the tiles, you can get a tile cleaner and pour it all over the tiles and scrub all the corners, tiles with a bathroom brush. Afterwards, you can clean and wipe the floor with water. Then you can spray disinfectant. Wipe the floors thoroughly with a mop.
Make sure to buy a disinfectant with a good smell so that your toilet always smells pleasant. Also, install bathroom fresheners to clear bad smells from your toilets. Get in the habit of wiping the toilet and spraying an air freshener after every use.
